Fahrenheit 9/11 received the award for Favorite Movie at the People's Choice Awards last nite... Favorite Movie Drama went to The Passion of the Christ, and Favorite Movie Comedy to Shrek 2.... strange company, eh?..... ;D

Yes I saw that too. Moore had commented on Leno the other night that he competition was made up of comic book and cartoon characters. This was not said in a nasty way; he went on to compliment the other movies.
I agreed with those three choices. What did you think?

Passion of the Christ was unwatchable for me (i 'suffered' Christ-like for 45 mins). Surely, it only won a "people's' choice award due to the content. Christianity and violence - gee, that's be a winner with the American public.

I also found Passion to be absolutely unbearable. If the theater hadn't been completely packed, I would have left, but I didn't want to be annoying.

That scene in Patriot - the one where Mel goes crazy smashing in a soldier's head - just about sums up where the Passion was coming from. What is wrong with Mel Gibson?

One of my favorite films is Ikiru, a Kurosawa movie made decades ago (1952?). I just saw it again, after an interval of over 40 years, and liked it even better the second time around.
Is anyone else a fan of this movie?
