Excellent! ;D Reminds me of F.E. Smith and Churchill etc., When they weren't allowed to join/were kicked out of the clubs of their choice they founded the 'other club'. Its g oing to take me awhile not to think of this as the 'other readersplace'.

I'll think of it as RIE ('wry') Readersplace in Exile.

I know. It's going to be an adjustment. But at least we'll still be together here. I tried to include the things that members liked from TRP to make it better for all. You can add topics you feel are missing. I just wanted to create a home for everyone first and foremost.

Wonderful!!! ;D
What a great surprise--and THIS is readable!!!
I may not be here for a couple of days because of some computer problems. Internet access is very limited just now. Repair person is supposed to fix this some time Monday.
Thanks to Aravis and everyone else who must have worked hard to make this place happen!

Robert: you're a "Global Moderator" with five great big stars. Grand Wizard, Commander in Chief, General of the Armies of the New Republic. Yikes! Eric will think he's died and gone to hell, if you joins here!

And Aravis as El Supremo. Now all we need is Comrade Tenarke, and Pandemonium will be complete.

So here I am, the most apolitical of people, joining your Hot Topics community for no good reason other than that I didn't see the point of closing the board at TRP. Solidarity, if you like. I don't expect to have anything useful to contribute, but I may surprise myself. Meanwhile, may I add-- and I promise not to mention it except this once-- that I hope those who've decided to leave The Other Place will reconsider? TRV was my first online community, and I always liked TRP better than any of the other Vine replacement sites that sprang up when CyberSites folded. Hate to see the old gang break up now, and with hard feelings.

Great that you are here - and you are right, it is a pity. It is funny how familiar names become over the years even if one doesn't chat all the time.
You were at the music vine too Camillofan?

I was an Admin at the MusicVine, as Grand Opera. Spent a fair amount of time at AS, too, though I never warmed to any of the AS replacements (including AW, alas). I also played at the HomeVine, but wasn't in the core group and don't know what they did after the closure. Readers was my "home" Vine-- I had 10 personae, entered every contest, and never missed a mystery chat.

I can't even remember my ID at the music vine but I do remember that you were an admin person there. I always preferred THV and TRP to AS. They weren't so vast. I must admit to enjoying Starbo more than anyone else - he was so outrageous but always nice, I thought. His exile every once and a while made the vines quite dull without him.

Ooops he was a star - but Strabo, of course.

I was considering the inclusion of a board to discuss music. Is that something anyone would be interested in?

Sure - I must admit to just buying an iPod so I have virtually unlimited music on the train. Just adding Nick Cave's U2 new albums as we speak. However, never fear, there's a wide range of music already on it.
Does anyone know the Polish composer, Gorecki? His 'Symphony of Sorrowful Songs' is sublime.
