Just took my Little Brother (Big Brothers/Little Brothers -- no relation) to see The Cranks Christmas. What can I say, but Something wrong, moreover, about Tim Allen -- once jailed for selling dope to kids -- making, well, kids movies. Guess, however, that if you expelled every actor with a checkered past from hollywood there wouldn't be anybody left.

I wouldn't limit checkered pasts to Hollywood either.

I just saw a long movie, "Amores Perros" ("Love's a Bitch" is the English translation, I think). Has anyone else seen this movie, which came out a few years back?
Just wondered what impressions people have had of this movie.
I have an opinion of it but it seems to be different from everyone else's (among the comments online that I've looked at and among people I've asked).

Oops! This must be one of those filtering situations.
The translated title I wrote (above) for "Amores Perros" wasn't "Love's a pregnant dog." It was "Love's a b****h."
Maybe that will get through the filter.... Readers will have to fill in some blanks.

*L* I thought you just translated very conservatively.

*LOL* I haven't seen that one Words, but I like your translation!
I finally saw The Terminal with Tom Hanks tonight. Great movie I thought. I liked the way it ended.

Sorry Words, but I can't help myself. Your translation was just too funny. A joke: How do you know a Frenchman's been in your backyard? The snow's yellow, your garbage is scattered all the hell over the place, and your dog's pregnant.

If you ever see the movie, "Love's a pregnant dog" will probably strike you as even funnier.
The movie isn't for the faint of heart--or for anyone who gets upset about obscene language.
I'm about to say it isn't for people who are fond of dogs, either, but some critics say that, after all, the movie was edited so that we're spared the worst of the violence.

I don't think there are too many people here who are faint of heart. That being said however, I don't think I'll watch it if it involves violence towards dogs. One of mine has just been diagnosed with cancer and I would probably find the movie too upsetting. Dogs are meant to be loved! Er, not in that way, Wyn.

Aravis, I found the cruelty in the movie almost unbearable myself.
(And whoever--or whatever---translates my cusswords into acceptable English here, a b***h isn't a "pregnant dog," as anyone who knows dogs knows. A b***h is just any female dog and is a quite acceptable term among dog breeders.)

Words, it's a built-in program that corrects words it doesn't like. It isn't Robert or I or any other member. ;D

Oh dear. I should have put a smiley ;D or something at the end of my post. I wouldn't have posted what I did if I'd supposed any human being was cleaning up my language!
Just thought it was funny how these things turn out when computers are in control. I've also heard that words like "assassin" can't get past some of the filters because they contain words like "a**."

Watched Supersize me last night. Enjoyed it more than Outfoxed of F9/11 and think it may be useful as a doco study at school. 30 days of McDonald's only made me feel ill. We occasionally eat pizza but it has been many many years since I had a burger from a fast food store or KFC. Actually, as a kid I worked at KFC for three years - worked damned hard. Still remember it as my welcome to concepts like 'productivity' and 'bastardry'. We were 'clocked-off 15-30 minutes early if we weren't working fast enough rather than being paid overtime. I was sacked when I go too old and expensive at 18.
